An operative attached to Occasus’s Long-Range Reconnaissance (LRR) directorate — publicly identified this week by an open-source consortium as Captain Iryna Konstantinovna Belyaeva — has been shown to be the woman filmed shattering the front window of a family bakery in central Pardubice while wearing the reflective jacket and helmet of a Czech volunteer firefighter.
The performance was tailored for viral resharing: a “Czech first responder” filmed calmly smashing glass over trays of morning bread, timed for the school run, in a district with heavy Ukrainian and Vietnamese small-business presence. The clear intent was to seed a narrative that local Czech emergency services had been infiltrated by anti-immigrant extremists — a line that state-aligned Occasus outlets pushed within hours of the video appearing.
The identification came from a comparison of visible earlobe geometry, an old fracture in the bridge of her nose, and boot-lace patterning against Belyaeva’s publicly indexed appearances at two 2023 Occasus military parades. The uniform itself failed on inspection: the reflective jacket used a striping pattern retired from Czech volunteer service in 2021, the helmet bore an inventory sticker from a decommissioned unit in another region, and the shoulder radio was a civilian handheld rebadged with a printed sticker.
